Minidisc^® Valve 3-A for the Dairy, Food and Beverage Industries

At Lumaco, we offer our Minidisc® series of disc shut-off valves in a variety of configurations for applications that require clean or sanitary processing. The flexible design allows the Minidisc® to be used with liquids, powders, slurries and in aggressive environments. Originally designed for use in dairy tanks, the Minidisc® is manufactured from grade 316 stainless steel and meets the requirements of 3-A Sanitary Standards.

To ensure the highest degree of product integrity, the Minidisc® was created with a disc and shaft that connect at a 45° angle to prevent piercing of the seat and two O-rings on the shaft to prevent process media from entering the stem housing. Elements include a disc that rotates a full 180°, enabling the valve to open without resistance. The Minidisc® handle provides quick, positive, leak-free shut-off, and the easy-to-read OPEN-CLOSE label or optional etching indicate valve status. A simple twist of the accessory locking handle secures it firmly into any desired position, instantly transforming the Minidisc® into a regulating valve. Engineered for trouble-free maintenance, the Minidisc® can be dismantled in seconds with just a twist of the heavy-duty clamp pin – no tools required! The only elements that ever need replacing are the seat and two stem O-rings.

Lumaco supplies custom, application-specific builds of our Minidisc® valve in grade 316 stainless steel with a 30Ra finish or optional electropolished finish. The Minidisc® series is offered in several sizes: 1 1/2″, 2″ and 2 1/2″ with a maximum rated in-line flow pressure of 120psi and 3″, 4″ and 6″ models with a maximum rated in-line flow pressure of 80psi. Choices of seat materials include PTFE, Buna, Silicone, EPDM and FKM. Stem O-rings are available in Buna, FKM, EPDM and Silicone or another elastomer upon request. Standard options for customization of the Minidisc® include air actuation, spring locking handles and user selection of any combination of weld, clamp or threaded inlets/outlets. DIN 11864 inlets/outlets and custom fittings are available as special orders.
