Minidisc ValvesMinidisc® Valves

Minidisc® valves feature a disc and shaft connected at a 45° angle to ensure an unpierced seat. The shaft has two O-rings that block the product—such as liquids, powders, and slurries—from entering the stem housing. This type of disc shut-off valve was originally developed for dairy tanks to enhance product integrity. There are two types of Minidisc® valves: Manual Minidisc® Valves and Air-Actuated Minidisc® Valves.

Both types of disc valves meet the requirements of 3-A Sanitary Standards and are available in grade 316 stainless steel. Minidisc® valves open without resistance, lock in place, and provide a leak-free shut-off. Operators can dismantle the valves quickly by hand – no tools necessary. Lumaco carries a diverse selection of seat and O-ring materials, including EDPM, silicone, FKM,PTFE and buna.

Doubledisc ValveDoubledisc Valves

Lumaco’s Doubledisc series of proprietary disc valves are built using our trademarked Minidisc® valve. These valves share one stem and two ports, creating a tee configuration. Turning the handle halfway shuts off one port while opening the other. The handle can remain in any preferred position. 316 stainless steel construction promotes sanitary operation and easy maintenance, as two seats and two O-rings are the only parts that will require replacement.

Doubledisc valves are flush draining and have no sump. They provide a lower flow resistance than standard divert valves and are hydraulically balanced to offer excellent regulating capabilities. Doubledisc valves come with built-in leak detector holes to alert operators to change worn O-rings. Addition of the air-to-air or air-to-spring actuator automates the valve operation. For added ease of use, a microswitch or solenoid unit can be included as an accessory.

Doubledisc valves are available in manual and air-actuated configurations.

Check ValveCheck Valves

Also referred to as non-return valves, our check valves are designed to prevent reverse flow within your pipeline. The valve opens when the pressure below the valve plug exceeds the pressure above it. A check valve is made of two parts assembled using a standard clamp and gasket.

Lumaco’s check valves are constructed of type 316 stainless steel for a nonporous, smooth finish and dimensional stability. Check valves are found in nearly every industrial application requiring one-way or non-return process flows.

Betterfly ValveBetterfly Valves

Lumaco’s take on the traditional butterfly valve is the Betterfly. In the fully open and closed positions, Betterfly valves can throttle or regulate flow. Preferred in applications where space is limited, the Betterfly is a complete valve unit – ready to install in your pipeline.

Automated Air-Actuated Valves

An automated air-actuated valve operates mechanically through a pneumatic compressor. Lumaco offers several types of automated air-actuated valves.

N7 Clean In Place Valves

These valves feature Teflon sliding bushings to guide the stem to positive alignment and reduce friction. Other characteristics include:

  • Visual leak detection through open yoke design
  • Easy cleaning
  • Visually detectable open and closed positions
  • Solid 316 stainless steel body

NB7 Aseptic Valves

Like N7 clean in place valves, NB7 aseptic valves feature sliding Teflon bushings, floating Teflon O-rings, 316 stainless steel bodies, and easily detectable open and closed positions. However, the NB7 aseptic valve also features a stainless steel bellow that facilitates long performance life and low maintenance.

Pressure Relief ValvePressure Relief Valves

Pressure relief valves open at a specified pressure and release fluid until the system’s pressure drops to an acceptable level. Their main purpose is to prevent a buildup of pressure and thus protect property and human life. Pressure relief valves must operate at all times, even during power failures that render system controls nonfunctional.

Pressure relief valves are powered by the process fluid. Pharmaceutical, dairy, and food and beverage industries rely on these valves on a daily basis. Lumaco offers several types of pressure relief valves to meet diverse, demanding applications.

  • Pressure relief valves: Available in both manual and actuated models, these are full-bore, self-draining devices that range from 1 in. to 4 in.
  • Miniature pressure relief valves: These are ideal for applications involving tight spaces or weight-sensitive applications. The 1/2 in. and 3/4 in. miniature pressure relief valves are suitable for applications that do not require actuated or manual override. These valves support a pressure range from 8 to 160 psi.
